The Story of Navy Blue Shop

The story of Navy Blue Shop begins in Lauttasaari of Helsinki in 2008, when its first physical store was opened at Heikkiläntie 1. The establishment of the store was driven by a burning interest in timeless and high-quality clothing and footwear for adults.

In the summer of the following year, the Navy Blue Shop summer store in Hanko's Itäsatama Harbor started operating, and still in June-July the doors of our summer stall open to serve visitors of the port.

It was in 2010 in Lauttasaari when our store moved to its current address Veneentekijäntie 7. Our customers often reminisce about our store and shopping there since the days of Heikkiläntie. It's wonderful to see how many long-term customers we have.

In Hanko, in addition to the Itäsatama Harbor summer store, we opened a Navy Blue Shop store on Vuorikatu in the summer of 2011. First, the store operated at Vuorikatu 12-14, until in 2013 we moved to a corner location on the same street at Vuorikatu 8-10, where our store is open all year round.

In the summer of 2021, we opened a pop-up store that operates during the summer season in Kuhmoinen’s marina, and in May of 2022, we opened another pop-up summer store in the Uki Outlet in Uusikaupunki.

Navy Blue Shop's initial selection, which was mainly aimed at men and consisted of a few nautical brands and the British Oxford Blue brand, has developed and grown over the years with several high-quality and interesting brands for both men and women. There are American, European and Nordic brands, with which cooperation has arisen along the way during several trade fairs and idea trips, as well as through new supplier and principal relationships.

The decision to move our interesting selection to the domestic online store navyblue.fi was made in 2008, and over the years we have been developing the store to serve our customers even better than before.

A lot has happened since the early years, and while we want to continue to develop, the basic idea behind our operations is still the same as in the beginning: a burning interest in high-quality clothes and footwear and the desire to serve you, our customers, the best way we can.
